St. Mary of the Angels is excited to announce our “Little Angels” program. The program’s mission is to encourage the socialization of the child by developing their gross and fine motor skills to prepare them for the preschool setting. This is achieved by offering the child the experience of story time, movement exercises through song, group play and interaction with others. The caregivers’ participation and involvement allows them to enhance their child’s emotional, cognitive and social learning. The “Little Angels” program is delighted to welcome toddlers and caregivers into this beneficial experience.
Our “Little Angels” Program takes place at St. Mary of the Angels School in Bucktown. Our spacious preschool classroom allows for a variety of interactive and social activities, while also providing the required resources as a children’s bathroom and a small gymnasium is accessible for all.
The “Little Angels” program is taught by our veteran principal, Ms. Elizabeth M. Dolack. Ms. Dolack has over 25 years experience in education and has earned dual Master’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education from the renowned Erikson Institute and Special Education from Loyola University.
Ms. Dolack had the opportunity to study under Dr. Barbara Bowman and Dr. Lorraine Wallach founders of Erikson Institute and advisors to former President Obama on early childhood policies. It was at Erikson Institute that Ms. Dolack acquired skills and talents to bring the most effective teaching strategies to our students in the early childhood education program. Ms. Dolack’s passion for teaching, her love of children and her positive energy makes this “Little Angels” program a delightful experience for everyone!
The “Little Angels” program is planned for two year old toddlers accompanied by their caregiver. Our classes are intended to have a smaller, more personal classroom setting so that the toddlers can adapt more easily to the classroom. As the semester progresses, our goal is to have the toddler feel confident and prepared for the next stage.
